LinkedIn Autopilot

LinkedIn Autopilot turns the ICP in your GTM plan into approved LinkedIn searches, qualified prospects and a 7-message campaign. You approve every step.

Updated 5 min read

LinkedIn Autopilot takes the ideal customer profile from your product's GTM plan and turns it into a full LinkedIn workflow: who to look for, which LinkedIn searches to run, who qualifies, and a campaign of a connection request plus 7 messages. You review and approve each stage. Nobody is contacted before you approve the campaign.

Autopilot appears as LinkedIn Autopilot in the Outreach section of the sidebar when it's available on your account. You can also start from your GTM plan with Find and contact this ICP on LinkedIn.

  1. GTM plan (ICP and personas)
  2. Targeting profile (you approve)
  3. Search plan and limits (you approve)
  4. Qualified candidates saved to a prospect list
  5. Connection request + 7 messages (you approve)
  6. Autonomy mode: Discover, Review batches or Full Autopilot

Before you start

1. Create an Autopilot

  1. Open LinkedIn Autopilot and click New Autopilot.
  2. Choose the Product. Optionally pick a Persona from the GTM plan (leave empty to use all of them) and a Name.
  3. If offered, choose Mode: Rehearsal never opens LinkedIn; Live runs in your Chrome through the extension once every live check passes.
  4. Click Create draft.

Distro reads the GTM plan (it never changes it) and drafts the targeting. The detail page then shows a setup checklist with Continue links, and tabs for Overview, Targeting, Search plan, Candidates, Campaign, Replies, Activity and Settings.

2. Approve the targeting

On Targeting, check job titles, title variations and exclusions, seniority, industries, company sizes, locations, keywords and problems they have. Each field shows where it came from, such as From your GTM or Entered by you. You need at least one job title and one location.

Also set the Qualification rules: whether the title must match, the location must match, and a company must be visible. Do-not-contact, duplicates and your limits always apply and can't be switched off. Click Approve targeting.

3. Approve the search plan and limits

Distro builds up to 6 LinkedIn people searches from your titles and locations. LinkedIn search filters on keywords only, so every person found is checked again during qualification. Remove any search you don't want, then click Approve search plan. Only approved searches ever run. Distro also creates the Autopilot's prospect list, named "Autopilot ยท <name>".

The limits are Distro's own safety limits:

LimitDefaultRange
Searches per day31 to 10
Pages per search21 to 5
People per search205 to 50
People found per day405 to 200
New prospects per day251 to 100
Enrolled per day101 to 20

Live searches run in your Chrome only inside your working hours, and only when no campaign action is due.

4. Review candidates

On Candidates, each person found is Qualified, Needs review or Not a fit. Distro rejects anyone marked do not contact, already in this campaign, or with an excluded title or company. People already active in another campaign go to review. Qualified people are saved as prospects (tagged "LinkedIn Autopilot") and added to the list. In People they show with the source LinkedIn Autopilot. You can Approve or Reject anyone by hand.

5. Write and approve the campaign

On Campaign, click Write the sequence. Distro drafts a connection note and 7 messages from your product's approved details (this uses AI credits). You need at least one qualified person first; activating Discover mode lets Autopilot find some.

The sequence is fixed in shape:

  • A connection request with an optional note (no links, no call ask).
  • Message 1 after they accept, then messages 2 to 7 after 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10 days by default (each 1 to 14 days).
  • Each message stays under 100 words with exactly one ask. Links are only allowed from message 6, and message 7 politely closes the loop.
  • An optional Booking link from a scheduling tool, used only from message 6.

Edit anything, click Save, then Approve campaign and type the confirmation. The sequence is frozen as a campaign version and its run starts with the first qualified people, within your daily limits and working hours. The campaign is listed with your other campaigns, under the LinkedIn tab of Campaigns.

6. Choose how much it does on its own

In Settings โ†’ How much it does on its own, pick a mode and click Activate:

ModeWhat it does
DiscoverFinds and qualifies people, saves them to the prospect list. Never contacts anyone.
Review batches (default)Finds and qualifies people; you approve each batch with Approve N for the campaign before anyone is contacted.
Full AutopilotFinds, qualifies and enrols people into the approved campaign automatically, within your limits. Needs the typed confirmation shown on screen.

Every enrolled person is checked again (do not contact, duplicates, limits). Use Pause and Resume at the top of the page at any time; resuming a Full Autopilot switches it back to Review batches.

Replies

Anyone who replies is stopped right away, as in every LinkedIn campaign. On the Replies tab you can choose what Distro does next: Just stop and show me, Draft a reply for me to review, or Safe auto-replies (rehearsal only for now). Read and answer real replies on LinkedIn; see LinkedIn replies and stop on reply.

Statuses

An Autopilot moves through Draft, Needs targeting approval, Needs search approval, Needs campaign approval, Ready and Active. It can also be Paused, Blocked (for example LinkedIn showed a security check: fix it on LinkedIn, then resume), Extension offline or Archived. The Next step column on the list tells you what to do.

You can have up to 25 Autopilots. Deleting one removes only the Autopilot, its searches and activity; the prospects it saved, the list and the campaign stay.
