You stay in control

Useful to your assistant. Safe for your reputation.

Your name is on every message, so the MCP can prepare the work but never speak to a prospect on your behalf.

What it will never do

  • Send an email or a LinkedIn message
  • Send a connection request
  • Launch a campaign
  • Send a reply
  • Publish an article
  • Delete anything
  • Change who is suppressed or unsubscribed

There is simply no tool for it. Not a setting you could get wrong.

Drafts, not actions

Everything the assistant writes lands in Distro as a draft. You review it and send, launch or publish yourself.

Launching stays with you

Ask it to launch and it gives you a link to the campaign in Distro, where you check readiness and press launch.

Pausing asks first

The assistant shows you exactly what will stop. It needs your yes, and a one-time code that expires in five minutes.

Your key, your rules

Each API key only sees the tools its permissions allow. Tools it can't use aren't even listed.

One workspace per key

A key only reaches the workspace it was created in. Two workspaces never share data.

Every call is logged

Each tool call is recorded with its outcome, so you can see what your assistant did and when.

Spend you can predict

AI drafting uses your plan's credits and is rate limited per workspace. There is no bulk generate.

Revoke any time

Revoke a key in Settings and every request using it fails from that moment.

Set it up

Connected in about two minutes.

You need a Distro account and an MCP client that supports remote servers.

  1. 1

    Create an API key

    In Distro, open Settings β†’ Integrations β†’ API keys and create a key. Read permissions are ticked by default; add the draft permissions if you want it to write drafts too. The key is shown once, so copy it then.

  2. 2

    Add Distro to your assistant

    Use the one-line command for Claude Code, or the JSON config for other clients that accept an HTTP header, such as Cursor or VS Code. Replace the placeholder with your key.

    Claude Code
    claude mcp add --transport http distro https://www.usedistro.com/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <YOUR_DISTRO_API_KEY>"
    JSON config
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "distro": {
          "type": "http",
          "url": "https://www.usedistro.com/api/mcp",
          "headers": {
            "Authorization": "Bearer <YOUR_DISTRO_API_KEY>"
          }
        }
      }
    }

    Server URL https://www.usedistro.com/api/mcp

  3. 3

    Ask your first question

    Try β€œWhat does Distro know about my business?” The assistant reads your workspace first, so every answer starts from your real offer, buyers and results.

FAQ

Questions about the Distro MCP.

What is an MCP server?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use outside tools. Distro's MCP server gives your assistant a set of Distro tools, so it can read your workspace and prepare work for you in plain conversation.

Can it send emails or LinkedIn messages for me?

No. There is no tool for sending, launching or publishing. The assistant can read your data and create drafts. Sending and launching always happen in Distro, after you review.

Which AI assistants can I use?

Any MCP client that can connect to a remote HTTP server with an API key in the header. Distro gives you a one-line command for Claude Code and a JSON config you can use in other clients, such as Cursor or VS Code.

How do I connect it?

Create an API key in Distro under Settings, then Integrations, then API keys. Add the Distro server to your MCP client with that key, and start asking. The setup steps are above.

Does it use my AI credits?

Only the tools that write with AI do: reply drafts use your Outreach or LinkedIn AI credits, and article writing uses your plan's blog-post quota. Reading data and creating plain drafts don't use credits.

Is my data safe?

Each key only reaches one workspace and only the tools its permissions allow. Keys are stored as hashes, every call is logged, and you can revoke a key at any time.

Is there an API too?

Yes. Distro also has a REST API and webhooks, for example for new replies or accepted LinkedIn connections, if you'd rather build on it directly.
