LinkedIn Intent Signals
Intent Signals lets you monitor LinkedIn posts your buyers engage with, review who commented or reacted, and save people as prospects. What works today.
Intent Signals is built to turn engagement on LinkedIn posts into prospects. You add posts your ideal customers engage with, Distro reads who commented, replied or reacted, and you review those people and save the right ones as prospects. Nobody is contacted from Intent Signals.
It appears as Intent signals in the Outreach section of the sidebar when it's available on your account.
How it's designed to work
- You add a public LinkedIn post
- A scan reads that post's comments, replies and reactions
- People appear in the Review queue
- You approve or reject them
- Approved people are saved as prospects (not contacted)
A scan only reads the post's own visible comments and replies, plus reactions when LinkedIn shows a reactions list. It doesn't browse your feed, run searches or visit profiles.
Add a post to monitor
- Open Intent signals and go to Monitored posts.
- Click Add post and paste the Post link. On LinkedIn, use the post's "Copy link to post" option. Links look like
linkedin.com/posts/โฆorlinkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:โฆ. Tracking parameters are removed automatically. - Optionally add a Label (only you see it) and Why you're monitoring it.
- Choose Scanning: Manual, or Scheduled (Daily, Every 2 days, Every 3 days or Weekly, never more than once a day).
- Click Add post.
Both personal and company posts work. You add one post at a time; profile links, company pages, search pages, job links and short lnkd.in links aren't accepted. You can monitor up to 50 posts; archive one to add another.
Each post's menu offers Dry-run scan, Edit, Pause / Resume and Archive / Restore. Archiving keeps the evidence already collected.
The Review queue
When a scan has found people, the Review queue shows each person with their headline, what they did (Commented, Replied to a comment or Reacted), a short quote of their comment, and the posts they engaged with. Filter by engagement type or post, and search by name or headline.
For each person you can:
- Approve or Reject them, or Ignore a company page or someone without a profile link.
- Save as prospect once approved, with optional tags and a note. The prospect keeps a record of the post and engagement as its source. They aren't added to a campaign and aren't contacted.
- Get a Suggested opening: a short, neutral opener based on the post they engaged with, to copy into your own message. It's only a suggestion; nothing is sent.
If the person is already a prospect, saving links the signal to the existing record without changing it. Only people with a LinkedIn profile link (/in/โฆ) can be saved.
Other tabs
- Saved: people you've saved as prospects.
- Needs attention: posts Distro couldn't read fully, for example the post was deleted, isn't visible to your account, or has comments turned off.
- Depending on your account, you may also see Intent scores (an outreach-priority estimate from engagement, fit and your GTM plan, not a prediction that someone will buy), Audiences (reviewed groups of prospects you can hand off to a campaign draft), Competitor watchlists and Scoring profiles.
Using saved people in a campaign
Saved prospects appear in People with the source LinkedIn post. New prospects saved this way aren't put in a list, so on the LinkedIn prospects tab you'll find them under Not in a list. Add them to a list, then pick that list when you create a LinkedIn campaign. Prospects from an intent audience can also use intent variables such as {{signalTopic}} in messages.
Limits
- Up to 50 monitored posts.
- Each scan reads up to 200 engagements.
- At most 10 live scans per LinkedIn account per day, once live scanning is available.
