LinkedIn account or extension not connected
Fix "Waiting for your browser", "Not connected", a different LinkedIn account in Chrome, pairing code errors and other Distro extension connection problems.
Distro reaches LinkedIn only through the Distro extension in your Chrome. To see your connection in Distro, open Sending accounts: the LinkedIn card shows Connected, Paused, Needs attention or Not connected, and whether Chrome is checking in. Click Manage for the LinkedIn account page. If either place, or the extension, shows a connection problem, find the message below.
"Waiting for your browser" or "Your Chrome isn't connected right now"
The extension hasn't checked in with Distro for several minutes. Campaigns pick up where they left off as soon as it does.
- Open Chrome on the computer where you set up the extension, and keep it open during your working hours.
- Check the extension is switched on at
chrome://extensions. - Open the side panel's Campaigns tab. If it says "Can't reach Distro, retrying", check your internet connection.
- Make sure the switch in the Campaigns tab is on (not "Paused ยท nothing runs until you switch it back on").
"Connect your Distro account" in the extension
The extension isn't paired with Distro, or its connection expired (it expires after 60 days without use).
- Click the Distro icon and choose Connect Distro account (or Reconnect Distro account).
- Log in to Distro in the tab that opens. The extension usually connects within a few seconds.
- If it doesn't, use Have a pairing code? Enter it manually with the code shown on the connect page.
"Pairing code expired" or "Pairing code not found or already used": each code works once and expires after 10 minutes. Go back to the connect page for a fresh one.
"LinkedIn campaigns aren't switched on" or the account shows "Not connected"
You haven't finished turning on LinkedIn in the extension:
- Sign in to LinkedIn in the same Chrome.
- Open the Distro side panel โ Campaigns โ Turn on LinkedIn campaigns.
- In Set up once, choose working days, hours and daily limits, tick the box and press Start.
If the extension says "Open LinkedIn in this Chrome and sign in first", sign in to linkedin.com and try again.
"A different LinkedIn account is open in Chrome"
Campaigns only run as the LinkedIn account you connected. Sign in to that account in Chrome, then press Check now in the extension's Campaigns tab.
To switch to a different LinkedIn account on purpose, press Stop using this browser in the extension (or use Disconnect on the LinkedIn account page), then turn LinkedIn campaigns on again while signed in to the new account. Reconnecting the same account later restores its settings and campaigns.
"Your LinkedIn isn't set to English"
Distro's LinkedIn campaigns only work with LinkedIn in English for now. On LinkedIn, open Settings โ Account preferences โ Display โ Language, choose English, then press refresh in the extension.
"You're signed out of LinkedIn" or "LinkedIn showed a security check"
Sign in to LinkedIn again in that Chrome, and complete any security check yourself. If LinkedIn showed a security check or restriction, Distro also pauses for at least 24 hours; resume it from the LinkedIn account page once you've checked your account. See LinkedIn daily limits, pace and safety pauses.
The extension doesn't appear, or acts twice
- Not in the toolbar: pin it from the puzzle-piece menu. For a manual install, make sure Developer mode is on and you selected the unzipped folder that contains
manifest.json. - Two Distro extensions: if you installed from the Chrome Web Store and also loaded it manually, switch one off at
chrome://extensionsand keep the newest version. - "Update required": your version can't send campaign messages. Install the latest version from the install page and reload it.
