Data, privacy and disconnecting integrations

How to disconnect Google, LinkedIn, the Copilot extension, your blog and other integrations, request your data, and permanently delete your Distro account.

Updated 3 min read

You stay in control of what Distro can access. Every connection can be removed: most from inside Distro, and Google access can also be revoked from your Google Account. This page explains where each disconnect lives, how to ask for your data, and what happens when you delete your account.

For the full legal terms, read Distro's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

What Distro never asks for

  • Distro never asks for your Google password. Your Google account is connected through Google's own sign-in and permission screen.
  • Distro doesn't ask for SMTP or IMAP passwords. See What Google permissions Distro needs.
  • For LinkedIn, you sign in on LinkedIn yourself in your own browser.

Disconnect a Google account step by step

  1. Open Sending accounts. It's in the Outreach section of the sidebar, below the divider.
  2. In the Google accounts panel, open the menu on the account's row and click Disconnect.
  3. Confirm in the Disconnect this Google account? dialog.

More detail, including reconnecting, is in Disconnect or reconnect your Google account.

Disconnect LinkedIn step by step

  1. Open Sending accounts and click Manage on the LinkedIn card. This opens your LinkedIn account page.
  2. Click Disconnect LinkedIn.
  3. Tick I understand the session will be deleted, then click Disconnect and delete.

To also end the session on LinkedIn's side, sign out of it from LinkedIn's own security settings.

Revoke Distro's access in your Google Account

Disconnecting in Distro removes the access Distro stored. To be sure, or to remove Search Console access, also revoke it at Google:

  1. Find Distro (usedistro.com) and remove its access.

Google may change where this page lives; follow Google's current help if it looks different.

Ask for a copy of your data

Distro doesn't have a self-serve data export. To request a copy of the personal data Distro holds about you, or to ask for a correction, email hello@usedistro.com. You can export individual articles from SEO & Content as Markdown or HTML at any time.

Delete your account

Deleting your account is permanent and can't be undone.

  1. Cancel your subscription, if you have one.
  2. Optional: revoke Distro's access in your Google Account (see above).
  3. Open Account settings from the profile menu (your photo or initial, top right). The Danger Zone is at the bottom of the General and Security tabs.
  4. Click Delete account.
  5. Type DELETE to confirm and click Permanently delete account.

When you delete your account, Distro:

  • cancels any emails still queued to send,
  • deletes your products, GTM plans, content, Outreach data (including stored messages and attachments), LinkedIn data and uploaded files,
  • deletes your login and signs you out.

If something goes wrong partway, Distro shows "Account deletion did not fully complete. Please retry." Try again; the process picks up safely. If it keeps failing, contact hello@usedistro.com.
